jucca film

is a German production company, founded in 2006 by Caroline Kirberg (director, producer) and Judith Angerbauer (director, screenwriter, producer). In 2011, Michael Kotschi (DP, producer) joined the team. We produce internationally orientated fiction and documentary films that are characterized by strong creative approaches. We believe in the synergy of our different areas of expertise.



Caroline Kirberg

specializes in producing films on the edge to art since 2010, aiming to bring innovative cinematographic approaches to the big screen. She worked on Clemens von Wedemeyer's "Rushes" which premiered at dOCUMENTA (13) in 2012. Dani Gal's art film "As From Afar", Volker Sattel & Stefanie Gaus' essayistic documentary "Beyond Metabolism", Stephan Geene's "Umsonst" and Philip Widmann & Karsten Krause's "Scenario" premiere at Berlinale 2014. Furthermore Caroline produced numerous creative documentaries for cinema and TV, the multiple-award-winning "The Other Chelsea" by Jakob Preuss among them. After graduating from English and Film Studies, Caroline participated in several further education programmes such as the Rotterdam Lab held by CineMart at Rotterdam International Film Festival.



Judith Angerbauer

wrote several screenplays like "The free will" by Matthias Glasner, an HR-TATORT "Der frühe Abschied" by Lars Kraume, "Mathilde liebt" by Wolfram Paulus, "Die Kronzeugin" by Christiane Balthasar a.o. As a writer / director she produced two short films ("Cover", "Egoiste"). 2011 she had her feature film debut "Sonnwende" together with Bernhard Landen and Heimatfilm as production company. The film had its world premiere January 2013 at the Max-Ophüls-Preis and had its theatrical release December 2013. As a producer she achieved experience with the own production company and with image films for the FLA (Fair Labor Associoation) during shootings in Thailand and India. She also does mentoring for young writers for theatre and film at the dffb Berlin and at the uniT in Graz.



Michael Kotschi

studied camera at the German Academy of Film and TV in Berlin (dffb). The numerous fiction and documentary films he shot as DP were screened at international festivals and won several awards, such as Bastian Günther’s „Houston“ which premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2013. Michael worked as a production manager for commercials and industry film. He was coproducer for jucca film’s shorts „Cover“ and „Egoiste“. The award-winning „Short for Vernesa B.“ was his debut as a producer.
